General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal organs, e.g., intestines including esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile ducts, and the thyroid gland. They also deal with diseases involving the skin, lumps, breast diseases and hernias.
